My name is Anden Wilder and I am an illustrator and mother frightened and heartbroken over the senseless gun violence that plagues our country.
#kidlit4gunsense is a call to action in support of children, students, families, people of all colors and creeds that we all deserve the right to “life liberty and the pursuit of happiness”, without the fear of being killed by gun violence. This movement is in solidarity with Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action.
I invite all illustrators and artists (as well as authors) who want to stand with us to demand common sense gun legislation in our country.
How can you get involved?
If you are an artist or illustrator, or if you are artistically inclined:
Draw a character with a message regarding ending gun violence. Make sure to include the hashtag #kidlit4gunsense in the image! 1080x1080
Post to your twitter and instagram tagging @kidlit4gunsense and include #kidlit4gunsense in the description.
I will repost your images on the pages!
If you are an author, librarian, teacher, parent, or a concerned citizen and you want to get involved— print out a picture of our logo and post a selfie holding it. This movement has its roots in the children’s literature community, but anyone who works with children or loves a child and is concerned for their safety is encouraged to get involved!
